Thank you to those who came to our first meeting at Winston's last Saturday afternoon.
We recognise now that a Saturday afternoon may not be the easiest for people to get to, so our next meeting is planned for Sunday afternoon, 7th December at 4pm. We will have some food there so people who wish to attend the evening service (plus everyone else of course) can have a bite to eat before leaving.
At this meeting we will need to decide on some fund raising activities to help those who will need some assistance in meeting the cost of travel. We will also start working out who may wish to speak on the various subjects that Winston has considered may be appropriate for our targeted audience at the two camps. If you didn't get there last Saturday, please email Winston and ask him to send you a copy of the proposed itinerary and camp subjects.
We will also at our next meeting organise our injection timetable with the doctor who wishes to support our trip by helping us get the health protection we need. From what I gather if we buy the vaccine he will do the jab and recording for us (we'll probably have to use our Medicare cards for this).
Still no word yet on the timing of when we will have to pay for our flight tickets. We are trying to get this postponed as long as possible. Winston may also have a contact who may be able to get less costly fares, but we will need to ensure that they have the capacity and backing to deliver as against our own member who runs his own travel agency.
Keep praying for this trip. I believe God is going to do great things, not only in the lives of those who we make contact with in Sri Lanka, but even moreso with us that go. I believe this is going to be a life changing event for us all.
